We’re on a mission to help brands be more inclusive

Misfit Media was built on the foundations of the disabled community’s mantra: “nothing about us without us” – providing direction for brands that believe in this too.

As an agency, we help companies go where 96% of brands won't. Despite being the world’s largest marginalized community, disabled people are only represented in the media 3.5% of the time (and it’s often problematic).

Our team is supported by a network of disabled, experienced creatives to help you nail your messaging.

Meet the Misfits

Headshot of Kelsey Lindell, founder of Misfit Media
  • Founder of Misfit Media

Kelsey is a disabled woman on a mission to educate the world on disability rights and ableism. She started her advocacy work in Cape Town, South Africa, working with justice-focused organizations that supported local people in the spirit of self-advocacy.

When Kelsey came back to the USA, she saw the issues facing disabled people were systemic, and wanted to educate people in powerful positions about these issues to create change.

Kelsey has worked in the media, marketing and entertainment circles ever since – founding Misfit Media in 2022. Misfit’s mission is to make disability DEI as simple as possible by starting the process through implicit bias education workshops and bringing in partner organizations, creating a simplified strategy that’s guided by people with lived experience.

  • Lived experience drives insight. Disability takes many forms, which is why we only partner with creative professionals that fall into the disability umbrella. Whether this is a physical or invisible disability, we welcome talented Misfits from across the globe to fulfil our briefs.

    This includes:

    • Creative directors
    • Marketing strategists
    • Designers and art directors
    • Production specialists
    • Copywriters + more
